Teens in the Workforce Panel Discussion and Job Fair
Tuesday, February 28, 2012
4-6 p.m.

On Tuesday, February 28 the Medfield Public Library’s Business and Job Resource Center will host a panel discussion on Teens in the Workforce followed by a job fair.
From 4-5 p.m. teens and their parents are invited to learn what it takes to get a job in a competitive job market.
Panelists include:

  • Bruce Campbell of Engage will cover what to be aware of when presenting yourself to employers, interviewing tips, as well as the benefits of community involvement.
  • Vera Kelsey-Watts of The Food Project will talk about the opportunities for employment and leadership that are available through the Food Project’s summer program.
  • Douglas Cook of Land’s Sake will discuss the variety of opportunities for teens at Land’s Sake. He will also talk about how to write a winning cover letter and resume.

From 5-6 p.m., local employers will be available to talk with teens about the types of jobs that are held by teens in their organization and what to expect during the application process.

This is a great opportunity for teens in Medfield and the surrounding area to network with local businesses and discover summer, weekend, or after-school jobs.  As always, Please contact Teen Services Librarian Kim Tolson at 508-359-4544 x8005 or email ktolson@minlib.net with any questions.
